Want to save some money, use an appropriate socket. Folks have been using sockets for years now.

I just use my fingers!! Look at it this way, you ain't gonna burn your own fingers!! I find many new annealers are using too much heat anyhow!
I like to anneal in a dark place so I can see whats going on better. I also drop
Into water to stop heat from getting to me case head.
