Sierra 85g HPBT seating depth - dct73 - 02-16-2024

I have a Howa mini and a few boxes of Sierra 85g HPBT's Laying around. Has anybody tried this combination? What AOL or seating depth did you use?

Does Sierra have anything on this? If not then you can look at seating for the 87 Hornady for some guidance, but the better way to find an optimum is to use an oal gage like hornady's and see what your barrel's lands will allow, then measure to see what length puts the bearing surface lining up to the case neck. For a short pill like the 85 It will likely be kinda short as far as OAL.

My Blitz 80 gr shoot sub moa at 2.085” oal. Would think 85 would be similar for a starting point.

Find your lands and go from there !

If I load to the lands the bullet will fall out of the case, LOL!  Smile
