Switchback replacement stock? - RTL - 10-28-2024

I picked up this rifle on an impulse buy and have been blown away by the accuracy.
That said, I really don’t like the look of the plastic stock. I’d like to see if I can get a replacement but wanted advice due to the number of variants Savage has made in the 110. Can anyone tell me if a “standard” replacement stock for a 110 will work with the factory magazine?

Thanks
RTL

I believe it is the 110 short action, and the 8 (10?, 12?) round mag from Mdt is an AI pattern mag.
Verify the action screw measurement to be model 10/ 110-short-action, then check to ensure the mag is the mdt one. (Savage does have a 3rd action length, the axis-ii, but that shouldn't be the case here).
If so, then any 110 short action stock that will accept the AI pattern mag should work (some third party stocks only take the savage model 3-4 rounders). I say should,
b/c I haven't tried it. I've done lots of stuff with my savages, but not that.

If everything is as it says, the quickest way might be the mdt field stock or the oryx. Lots of other choices however.

My 110 Switchback is the exact same footprint as the Savage Model 11 with the Bottom Bolt Release.

Took my Model 11 Boyd's At-One off and screwed it right into the Switchback. The most important part is being compatible with the Bottom Bolt Release. The one other item to note. Savage has 3 different designs for the DBM. One has the release as a lever as part of the bottom metal. Next is the one that is normally referred to as the Axis model with a clip molded into it. That is the "old" model. Now they make the same magazine only instead of a clip there is a push button. That is the "new" model.

The Boyd's stock will accept both with no issue. The Switchback stock would not accept the "old" model.

Yes, roger that, forgot those items. I have run into those. So the switchback uses a "new standard" savage dbm, but with that new button-release thingy. Personally the previous model 10/11 metal with the release on the metal rather than the mag, is far better IMO, but I guess they are saving money this way. I actually stocked up on some regular bottom metal parts so I could swap them out if I wanted... which I did couple times, anyway... for my latest Sav-223 using a magpul stock and the AI-223 mag (10 rounds) and it works well in that setup.
But with so many older style model 10 dbm's, I just didn't want to get into the new type dbm.

Separate question... I saw what must be the new at-one on a guy's rifle at the range the other day and the handgrip seemed more vertical, all wood, and "better" than the swappable plastic ones I had on an earlier at-one... is yours like that. If this newer vertical grip is the thing today I might be able to put the at-one back on the list as an option... I have a ruger american needs some stock-love, and wellllll......
