....personally I like JRB's videos, especially when his missteps occur. One learns from mistakes, be they their own or others .
...in this particular video I feel many questions have been answered about ways to mitigate the shortage of components and/or ammo for those getting into the 6ARC sphere. Its always good to have alternatives for times of shortages.

More than a month ago I did everything Johnny did in his video on my own except I used a Hornady 6mm ARC FL die instead of the RCBS SB die. I did not get the small ridge at the case head when resizing once fired 7.62x39 cases. Also, I didn't have to size those cases to 6.5 Grendel first. None of the 15 cases I resized collapsed at their shoulders when I ran them through the Hornady ARC die. There were 5 different manufacturers among the 15 cases: Remington (SP), GECO, Federal, PMC & one of unknown origin (head stamp is IK).
With new Starline & Hornady 6.5 Grendel brass: resized, trimmed, primed & loaded with 25gns Reloader 7 & Sierra 85gn Blitz King bullets.
With new Lapua 220 Russian brass: Necks expanded to .242" inside diameter, trimmed, primed & loaded with with the same powder charge as above. Used 70gn Varmageddon bullets seated to touch the rifling.
Unfortunately, I've not been able to get to the range to fire-form any of these cases. I hope to do that soon.

My first choice is Lapua then Starline brass in: 6.5 grendel and 762x39. I made the mistake of when I reformed the Lapua 220 russian was that I needed to have the bullet touch the lands or it would not fire. Had to go back home and pull them out a little more. After that they fired OK.

I do not have any cases or dies yet as I'm still collecting parts.
From a strictly numbers perspective ref SAAMI drawings, X39 case is around .006 larger at R1 base diameter. So I'd say a small base die is just doing it's job like what happened to Ol' Johnny.
I'll have to go watch again, but perhaps(?) that is why he was getting a tight spot just as the bolt was about to start locking?[attachment=462][attachment=463]

I can't see the video here at work.
I have been using Lapua .220 Russian brass. I learned of a method that doesn't require the use of a bullet, and still forms the brass great. Loaded with 8gr of Universal Clays, topped off to the bottom of the neck with Cream of Wheat, and plugged with tissue.
I've done 100 pieces so far with zero issues.
