Reloading dies. - MikaS - 02-17-2023 Hi 6mm ARC barrel is coming and now must to be make decision what dies buy. I use many times Forster and Redding Dies, but now is hard to find this caliper easy here. What experiences you are Hornady Match Grade or Wilson dies to this caliper. I must make ARC brass from Lapua, Hornady and starline Grendel brass. What Hornady bushning sizes your use? RE: Reloading dies. - grayfox - 02-17-2023 Back when everything first came out for the 6Arc, the only dies made were the hornady custom ones. I got those and have been using them ever since, no problems. Hornady shell holder #6 (same as for grendel), I got 2, one for the press and one for the priming tool. I did do a few hornady grendel conversions to 6 Arc using the frankford drill-trimmer setup and the hornady dies, worked fine (no annealing, they were new brass that already had that). Only a batch of 15-20 however, just as proof of concept to me. So. No special bushings, no fancy dies. Now you can get the more $$$ ones for sure, but this is what I'm using. RE: Reloading dies. - GRH - 02-18-2023 +1 Hornady Custom grade, with a micro seating stem. My thought was since it's their baby, I'll use their dies. I use the sizing die without the decap/expander ball, my process I use a universal decapping die and 21st Century expanding die/mandrel. Just as well, as had I used it the ball came with machining grooves enough to remove materiel from inside the neck, and the rod collet will not thread into the die without cross threading, unless I pull up while starting the threads (pat your head and rub your stomach)... I polished the nicely hardened ball, but still... All of my brass is resized 6.5G brass, and while waiting for Starline, bought some PPU for the interim but never used it. Both sized well with only minor loss due to personal learning curve. RE: Reloading dies. - alwie - 02-22-2023 (02-18-2023, 12:51 PM)GRH Wrote: +1 Hornady Custom grade, with a micro seating stem. RE: Reloading dies. - popgun - 02-23-2023 Mighty Armory resizing die is far better than the Hornady die, I have both. I do use the Hornady seating die with a micro adjuster. RE: Reloading dies. - topclass2017 - 03-05-2023 Forster for sizing, LE Wilson arbor for seating RE: Reloading dies. - pmc847 - 03-09-2023 I have a L.E.
