Military Future of 6mm ARC?
#1
It's pretty much an open secret that the Navy SEALs are seriously testing 6mm ARC.

Geissele is making weapons for them. One of their 6mm ARC lowers at SHOT Show 2025 even had a little anchor logo on it.

Magpul is making a new 25-round polymer magazine for 6mm ARC, although my guess it would work well with the whole family: 6mmARC, 6.5 Grendel, 22 ARC, 338 ARC.

Surefire is making their ICAR 6mm ARC weapon, which was on display in the Magpul SHOT Show booth, because it takes the new Magpul 6A magazine. The Surefire rep winked at me and said, "Read between the lines."

Palmetto State Armory is making a 6mm ARC weapon in their Sabre line using the new Magpul magazine.

Dead Air has a new Lazarus 6 suppressor, which is full-auto rated, and they were careful to note in their advertising that it handles 6mm ARC.

Chatting with Frank from Geissele in their booth at SHOT Show 2025, he almost slipped and told me more than he should, but caught himself and said, "I can't say more." He seemed excited about 6mm ARC.

Putting two and two together, my gut says the U.S. military — with development of this driven by the SEALs — is getting more and more serious about 6mm ARC.

With the uber-monstrosity sig fury 277 80,000 psi, this makes a whole lot more sense!
Regular 6Arc dynamics/ ballistics, a 6mm "A-tip" like round that can defeat body armor "far enough out there" and all the weight savings...
well, DUH!
