Hornady 100gr Interlock for hunting

Anyone have experience loading the 100gr interlock for hunting with a bolt gun ?

I have a box of these from almost 20 years ago. Bought them for a .243 I had, but ended up shooting the Sierra 85 in that rifle. I've shot them in my 6ARC, and got just over 1 MOA, but have been trying to get other bullets to group better. I've been trying the Sierra 85, the Sierra 90 TGK, and the 95 SST with nothing staying under 1 MOA yet.
I just might go back to the 100 interlocks and see if that will respond to some tweaking. That bullet has been around for a long long time for a reason.

Think I may have tried a few, along with the sierra 100 BT, possibly the speer 100 BT, and like both/all of them in my 243's. Me personally I don't like when a sliver of the lead nose-tip gets shaved off at the load cycle into the barrel... I can't get it into my thick head that maybe the tip doesn't matter accuracy-wise, I just seem to stick to that idea.
I like the poly tip or brass tip (like bergers) better... for those reasons.
But those 100's will definitely shoot.
The shape of the hdy 100 is better, oal-wise, than the sierra, so OALs while shorter than 2.260, will also differ between mfrs on these lead-tips.
I've stuck with mostly Lever or some CFE for these 100+ pills.

Are you happy with the 103’s performance? I may try those over the 105 Scenar’s.

In general, yes. I can find nodes for both gas and bolt, for the bolt action if I want to go target pill I'm using the 107 smk's, again bolt gun.
the 103 eldx, I've got loads in Lever and in Varget for the bolt gun. 22" bolt gun I can do anywhere 2710-2740 or so, for the 20" gas gun, around 2670, all for accuracy nodes.
Couple of recent trips I seemed to be getting higher MVs out of the 22" bolt, but then again it was Lever and 80-85+ deg F.... so reckon I should've known.

ps, couple of years ago I killed a couple of nice does with the 103's, in my 6 Creed. Bullets performed well, both pass-throughs. So It will definitely do the job for me.
When it cools down a little more like hunting season temps, I'll bring out my bolt action/103's again and put it into rotation.

Yes all my shooting is hunting and I have been very happy with the 103. Everything shot is in the freezer. But after being on this site I got the reload bug and now am looking for better if there is such a thing

Thanks gentlemen. The 103 factoryload shoots well from my 20” gas gun at 2,728 fps. I’ll run that load this year. Son came home from college for today’s opener and of course shoots a nice buck first thing. Good for him and our freezer!

I shot the 18" Savage 110T today and ran the Hornady Precision Hunter 103gr and my own handloads across the chrono.

Hornady 103gr averaged 2583 fps

Hornady 1x cases, F205M AR primers 29gr WW748 Sierra 100gr BTs 2.120" averaged 2615 fps

Both shot right at MOA at 300 yards today despite the mirage.
