Has anyone tried this in ARC yet? It keeps on popping up out there. Been in and out of PV, MidSouth, Larry's, etc (as well as Hodgdon's site) for over a month. The Canadians must be working overtime while the Aussies slack. I've been using it with success for 75s in my 5.56 pin & weld (or at least as successfully as one could hope for with a 21 oz pencil barrel with a red dot) and am probably going to try it with 69s for another barrel next.. Supposed to be a stick version of 2520, although it falls between 2460 and 2520 on the charts and is just a tad slower than XBR and H4895. Seems like it should work well for 80s to 100s. I'll probably end up trying it in x39 brass, but need to work my way through what's left of a jug of XBR with 80s first to clear up shelf space. Just wondering if anyone's tried it or given it a thought.

I'm very interested myself. I've been looking at lighter bullets also and a powder to go with them. Still not 100% on what may be too light for my setup but that's the fun of handloading. I not confident enough to venture outside the published norm on my own quite yet with rifle cartridges.

I have a can of 2495 I got to work up some loads for .308 Win to use in service rifle matches but never got around to it. I did some experimenting with it as a smokeless powder substitute for my Remington rolling block 45-70 blackpowder rifle using jacketed bullets.
I didn't see any 2495 loads for 6mm ARC in any of the manuals I have but there are some for 6mm PPC. I suppose one could start there & work up a load for the ARC.

I'm still leaning ,aren't we all, but I see that 2495 is darn near exactly between TAC and Varget which both have published loads. How linear the barn charts actually are, I have no clue. That and I have never worked with any of those powders so I couldn't even guess where they would be with case fill. This is where my lack of experience and knowledge puts on my good judgement brakes.
The way I understand things are case fill and seating depth affect the peak pressure and its curve of application.???....how that applies to extrapolating data in unknown territories I leave to the experienced loaders. Hopefully those more knowledgeable ones brainstorm a solution. It may help me and others with this kind of thing in other scenarios. I diversify a bit with pistol calibers but don't feel comfortable yet with my rifle loading.

I think one of the reasons there's not a lot of info on it out there is because it's a relatively recent entrant in a very crowded area and wasn't something often seen despite good initial reviews. Even Accurate only lists data for 95s in 6PPC and 60s/70s in 6BR. And the 95 they used was a Berger VLD in a 1:14 twist! I was curious and put max velcity through Berger's twist calculator and the SG was around 0.56. Berger comment for that is "Your bullet is unstable. Expect bad accuracy, tumbling bullets and keyholes in targets."
I'm going to make up a string with 80s and 90s and use 95gr PPC charge as a reference point. My Sierra manual is old. They did a lot of testing with it in 6x45 (where I'm also going to try it to preserve my stash of Benchmark) but nothing in 6PPC or 6BR. Would be interesting to see if they tried it in later editions with either.

Hodgdon has put a bunch of Accurate powders in their ARC load data, including A2495 for >100 gr. Velocity looks pretty anemic, running 80-100 fps below Varget. I'll probably run a string up to their max next time I bring Rubin or GiGi to the paper range just to confirm. They also have data for A2700 which is a ball powder on the fast end of the 4350 class. Doesn't get the velocity of CFE or Lever, but it isn't a slouch. They also have data for TAC >100. I would have thought it might work in the mid range too. Don't tell the Grendel guys - there's nothing new there and they're probably feeling abandoned enough by the bullet manufacturers
