Gavin has some more data on the cartridge and it's performance. The first half of the video speaks of the CMMG rifle. The second half discusses his loads and the factory offerings.

Off topic, but am inspired by that light gray and black color scheme!

All my Grendels, lately, have been FDE and black.

Just might have to do that light gray for the 6mmARCs....

Cerakote or Alumahyde or.... ???

Anyway, thanks BD for video heads up.

I've Cerakoted a couple of ARs. It's fun, but the equipment needed to do it, even on the cheap, adds up. If you're looking to do just a couple of guns I'd farm out the work or try alumahyde.

So I'm having a hard time deciding whether to post this stuff in this section or AR15s and Semi-Autos. Gavin has some more data on the Hornady Match and Black lines. However, I'm thinking his accuracy results tell more about the CMMG rifle than the ammunition. IMHO, he's downplaying the average performance of his weapons system. Gavin's generally a pretty precise guy. When he starts measuring groups by 'hand widths', i get skeptical.

With the MV, SD and ES specs on factory ammo I'd expect a lot better from a rifle system, ~2 moa, maybe 1.75 at 600. So the rifle or the barrel has to be the suspect Imo.
Expensive rifle for that performance.

I agree Biodsl, my first range trip in a bad wind produced better groups that he got with the 105’s. There is no telling how much that loaner weapon has been tinkered with. I don’t think that was a ammunition issue.

I'm also a little underwhelmed by the CMMG rifle's performance, which is why I've held off on buying one of their barrels.

I've been thinking of getting a hold of Mark at Precision Firearms and ordering one of his 6 ARC Criterion barrels. I had one of his 6.5 Grendel barrels. It took some break-in but finally was shooting pretty nice.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
