Hornady #6 Case Holder Stripping Case Head
#1
I originally used a Lee #1 Case Holder in my RockChucker to decap fired 6 ARC Hornady cases. About 50% of my cases would not fit in it. After Hornady suggested using their #6 holder I moved over to that one and continued de-capping with no problem.
However, when I started sizing my brass using the Hornady 6 ARC FL sizing die I started having cases pull out of the case holder and get stuck in the die. To get them out I raised the holder back up and then pull the holder to me with a screwdriver by applying sideways force on the case and relocking it around the brass case. Once I got the case out I looked it over and noticed that a segment of brass had been sheared off of the case head. It sort of looked like a clipped finger nail. This happened 4 more times. Finally I went back to the Lee #1 holder and I have had no more issues.

BTW, I lubricate my brass with Imperial wax and dry lube for inside the neck.

So, I can I use the Lee#1 case holder to Decap, Resize and Seat the 6 ARC.

Hornady 1 shot, over in and outer, with the #6 holder for both 6 arc and 6.5 Grendel.
Only times I've gotten a stuck case/stripped from holder is poor or no lube, for any cartridge. And I've had a couple (learned my lesson! after them)...
Sorry to hear this.

I have been lubing the same for several thousand 6 BR rounds and I never get a case stuck. This is an issue with the holder. I have used one shot often but I do not spray it inside. It causes my SD to go up by using it internal.

Third time's a charm. Try an RCBS #6 for 7 bucks. If that doesn't work, you're problem is something aside from the shell holder.

RCBS #32 Shellholder is the correct item for 7.62x39, 6.5 Grendel & 6mm ARC brass. While some .441" rim diameter cases will fit in a RCBS #6 shellholder, that item is for .38 Special/.357 Mag cases. I have used the #6 for resizing Grendel & ARC brass without problems when resizing Hornady & AA 6.5 Grendel brass, but Lapua brass is a very tight fit in that shellholder. Forget trying 7.62X39 in the #6. Not gonna happen...

I've been using an RCBS #6 with no issues for 6.5 Grendel and 6 ARC. Lubing with homemade lube consisting of liquid lanolin and alcohol.

I may have to pick up an RCBS #32 just because.

for those new to reloading each brand of shellholder will use a different number. Here is a convienent chart you can download or save link to help in the future.

It is very important to get case lube on the bottom side of case all the way around, if there is no case lube in this area before running case in sizer die, the case will likely get stuck. That said, I like to use a minimal amount of case lube, I dont care for the Hornady one shot spray, for the reason it puts to much lube in areas not needed, just my two cents.
