I felt like I was smoking out the barrel unnecessarily with heavy strings of fire in the Louisiana heat so I got a heavy varmint that takes longer to heat up. I'm sure my wife will be a little more gentle than I am with the shooting I do.
So, correct positioning with a MONSTER barrel is to butt up your gas block to the gas block shoulder and then the gas ports SHOULD be aligned.
