Signs of pressure

I know ejector marks, hard to open bolt and looking at the Primer. So on a bolt action rifle I can figure it out

What would you look for on a Ruger #1 ?

I'm getting my 6.5CM Pac-Nor #1 back next week and am currently looking for a candidate to have barreled in 6arc.

Just wondering what the signs of high pressure would be ?


Any help would be appreciated 

Anyone ask why a Ruger #1,   Because I don't think anybody has one in 6arc

No personal experience with Ruger No.1 Sounds like a sweet rifle as is. And yes you may have the first Ruger #1 with this ARC chambering.

Thanks, That was interesting.
I was going to do the #1 I have now in 6arc but was not able to find an extractor that would work so I grabbed one for 6.5CM and went that way. I have now bought an extractor that will work for 6arc so now it's just a matter of finding the right #1 at the right price .

Next question 
The #1 I have had a 26" barrel before the change and stood about 2" shorter than my CZ527 with a 24" barrel, so I think I could go all the way to 28" without affecting portability. Looking at some charts on increased velocity with barrel length seems it would be an easy way to add some speed.

Personally I would not do that. Though your use & mine will vary. If you do go that rout & do not like it the barrel could always be shortened. Should you should you decide to shorten the barrel that could be done in the future.
