Lapua Brass available

Note: At least in my case, I do not need to turn necks when forming 6mm ARC from 220 Russian.

Suspect Neck turning may be nessisary if you start out w 7.62 x 39 brass as your parent brass necked down to 6mm arc. IMHO the large rifle primer not only is not needed in the 6mm ARC. Id say the large rifle primer would be less desirable.

If the initial brass price is a major concern for a reloader then Id expect Starline 6.5 Grendel brass has been one of the better buys recently. not sure You will have any luck finding the starling brass at present.

The 220 russian brass formed to 6mm arc renders brass nearly identical to the Hornady 6mm ARC brass with the exception of the need to trim the neck to length & of corse the head stamp. & smaller flash hole. On the up side the brass weight uniformity & tight more uniform primer pockets. & IMHO the brass withstands a little more pressure.

If you can't telll , I do favor the 220 russian brass as the parent brass for forming 6mm ARC. With Lapua & starling 6.5 grendel
as a fairly near second choice.

Due to neck turning concerns and mostly the LR primer ID place 7.62x39 in any brand as a very distant 3rd choice for parent brass for 6mm ARC. JMHO
