I've adopted neck annealing as a means to extend my brass life. I full length resize every case, and I measure all cases and initially trim to 1.475" when needed. I know that max case length is 1.490", but I'm electing to trim any case that measures 1.480" or longer.
In practice, I've only had NOS 6.5 Grendel and recovered Hornady brass from factory ammo, though I recently acquired 250 new Starline 6.5 Grendel cases.
Hornady brass nearly always needs trimming after firing, while NOS rarely does. After my initial forming and trimming I haven't needed to trim any of the NOS brass thus far, after 2 firings.
