Does your 22" heat up pretty quickly?
I took the 22” sporter since overall it’s a “Mini” action and wanted light. GLW your decision.
I have had 3 bolt action 6mm ARC rifles & all are equipped with lighter weight 22" barrels. I consciously make it a point with most all rifles to not fire successive rounds any faster than 10 second intervals. I have been rather impressed on how slow the barrel warms up. we are talking 5 & once in a great while 10 shot strings. Never actually measured the temperature of the barrel though. My really warm barrel may be a very Hot barrel to you.
The small powder column in the 6mm ARC is bound to reduce the heat. I have not shot a heavier barrel 6mm ARC yet to compare to my light contour barrels.
The barrels I have worked with was 1 Howa mini that started life as a barreled action from Brownells. Did a savage axis & that went down the road recently. did not like the little cartridge in a longer action was my biggest beef with that rifle.
My favorite 6mm ARC is a CZ527 with a Pacnor barrel. I have had considerable trigger time with the CZ 527 in the last 3 years. Not so much time with the others.
I do have a heavier barrel spun up to try on the CZ & just have not felt the need to put that barrel to use yet. If I ever get around to purchasing a silencer the heavier barrel seems like she may be more fitting for that application IMHO.
