I've used a variety of brass catchers over the years. For the last ten years I've been using one of the net ones that Velcro's to the forend, after I replaced the netting with cordora pack fabric keeping the bottom open. It worked OK, but as it got worn and frayed it would occasionally get caught in the bolt carrier. It was also a little fussy to keep correctly aligned on the ejection port. This summer I finally broke down and spent the money on a Brass Goat which is a BIG improvement. I leave the bottom off so the brass collets on the shooting bench and presents no risk of jambing up the ejection port. Being a stiff, completely plastic, (Kydex?) unit it seems to be completely reliable and stays correctly aligned.
