I've also found that my best groups happen well off max published loads for most things I reload. Pistols are some of the easiest examples, especially for revolver where you just have to get it out of the barrel. My current ARC A-Tip load is about .8 gr under max published, and my 6.5CM with ELD-VT is a full grain under. My 50 BMG with 800gr bullets is about 5 gr under at 222 grains of H50. However my 17 Remington is near max, likely because it is a 24", 1:9, bull barrel and likes speed with the 30gr bullets from Black Hole Bullets.

Look for those good groups at lower charges, easier on the brass, easier on recoil, and your supplies last a little longer.
