I personally have had several ruger gen 1's in grendel, AR style mags... and the issue I had with them was inability to properly chamber the round. But thinking back, I think it was mostly the ones with shorter OAL's, like a 90 TNT I was hand loading as well as the Federal factory TNT's. The longer 2.260-ish ones would feed better but you need to be firm on the the forward push. So perhaps the gen 2 (I have a couple but not in AR style mags) could feed those ok. Most of the ARC loads of interest should be 2.220+, the 105 Black is the stubbier of the 3 hornady factory's, 'course you could always roll some of your own. The duramag (blue follower) will allow longer OAL than some of the steel-ish ones like Elander or ,,, I forget the other styles. There's also the amend2, double to single stack, some folks are liking them.
