It could be shot placement. I shot a big doe at about 100 yards just behind the shoulder and she dropped like a rock. The exit hole was about the size of a golf ball. Not much meat loss which is a plus.
I think the ELDX is a very capable bullet in 6 ARC, but not for iffy shots. I don't typically shoot deer in the shoulder, and I sure wouldn't try that shot with my rifle. Heart and lungs = dead deer quick.
Maybe with a different bullet?
