Last season, I shot a WT buck at about 75 yards, and he ran about 75 yards. While field dressing, his heart came out in my hand with no cutting required. (100gr 25-06) The biggest rack WT I ever shot was double lunged at about 75 yards, and he turned and ran about 100 before piling up. (180gr 30-06). I shot several with 12ga slugs, double lung, and they ran 50 yards.
Unless its a CNS shot, they often run until they are out of blood and/or air. Bigger holes let the blood out faster, and an exit hole helps.
