Went to the range today and tried something different, I loaded a ladder with some BLC-2 with Noster 105 RDF's. I used the load data from a 6mm PPC as a starting point. The 6PPC round has a case capacity of 33gr. and the 6 ARC capacity is 34gr. The 6PPC minimum load was 26gr to a maximum of 28gr. So I started at 26.7gr. and worked up in .3gr increments.

The results were very interesting and the average MOA was right around 1 MOA at 100 yards with a random flyer, but velocity was way down so this is to be expected.

I used my Faxon barreled gun that is not as accurate as the Odin barrel but is still a pretty good shooter.

I am going to pick this up again where I left off and take it to the next level and see if I can get it to the 2600 to 2700FPS to see how it does. and as the charge went up today the numbers and the target got better. This powder may be just as good as Leverevolution for me. and I have had great success with Lever shooting .3 to .5 groups consistantly and nailing 5" plates at 600 yard distance with way more hits than misses even with the Faxon barrel.

One more thing to add is the temp was only 47 degrees today but the wind was almost dead calm.

Well back to the range today and picked up were I left off. BL-C2 has alot of promise. It was shooting right around 1 MOA off a Bipod.

All in all it seems to be a good powder, No signs of pressure, primers still nice and round on the edges, no swipe marks. I think it will handle a little more powder to pick up velocity, would really like to see it constantly in the 2650 FPS range.

It was pretty windy out today gusting to 20 - 25 MPH at times. But I was still able to repeatedly hit the steel plates at 600 yards with the Nosler 105 RDF's. I did not even dial any windage into the scope. wind was more of a head wind but still blowing the flags sideways across the range at times. Was shooting with a friend that was shooting a 6BR. He was a little upset that my SD's were so low and his were in the upper 30's and low 40's.

So far however, we seem to be using the temp sensitive, ball powders.

I have some H322, it is temp insensitive and one of the best powders I have ever used. It burns clean and is very and I mean very accurate powder in my .223 pushing lightweight bullets.

Some of the top 6mm benchrest guys use it. But I am not sure how well it would do pushing 100 gr plus bullets. It has a pretty fast burn rate.

I shot some 100 gr spitzer boat tails today loaded with 29.4 gr Lever, they did surprisingly well. But I only shot them out to 100 yards, it was pretty windy. My son was ringing steel out to 400 yards with Hornady 75 gr HPBT in his .223 bolt gun.

Maybe I will try that H322 with some 85 or 95 gr bullets I have here.

What was your temp today? It looks like you got your 28.2 and 28.5 backwards? Even so, it seems like a bit of a jump from the 27.9.

I just tried H322 with 60 gr VMAX's in my relatively new Faxon Gunner 5.56 pin and weld. It burns fast. The reduction in blast vs my pet load of 55 gr NBTV's with Benchmark (which isn't slow) for another rifle was very noticable. And Benchmark performs best with light for caliber bullets. I'm sure H322 will work great in the 55-75 range in 6 ARC, but it's going to be way too fast for 105s.

It was 65* at the range yesterday, last week it was only 42*, I think that the temp spread had a lot to do with the velocity difference from week to week.

H322 and Benchmark are pretty close in burn rate. I know I don't get much of any muzzle flash from either of these powders, even out of my 10.5" pistol.
