So I've decided I'm going to build a 12" ARC based on one of BFT's barrels. In the mean time it will live as a 12" grendel with a monster barrel, but I figure it would be cool to have both and shoot the one with ammo available. That said, can we get a thread started with velocities from factory ammo. I know there aren't many short barrels as of yet, but I think a good set of data with many barrel lengths that was easy access would be awesome.
Something like barrel length, ammo type, velocity would be perfect! Thanks in advance!

I can’t offer any data, but am eager to see the replies. I’m going to build a 12” w/ Monster barrel also to accompany my 18” Odin barreled rifle that I just finished.
Hopefully this link to a chart on snipershide works.I think it is factory data from Hornady.

I've built a 12" Match Grade 416R Stainless Steel, 5R/1-7.5 Twist 6mm ARC X-Caliber Barrel - Pistol configuration.
the following info provided: All were 5 shot groups and shot after 45 rounds of breaking in and sighting Optics.
Factory Hornady 108 ELD-M: Avg: 2429, Hi: 2452, low: 2388, SD: 26.2
Reloads Hornady 108 ELD-M: 29.1 CFE223; COAL: 2.245 - Avg: 2368, Hi: 2397, Low: 2324, SD: 29.5
Reloads Hornady 108 ELD-M: 29.5 CFE223; COAL: 2.245 - Avg: 2402, Hi: 2431, Low: 2372, SD: 27.7
Reloads Hornady 108 ELD-M: 27.0 RL-15; COAL: 2.245 - Avg: 2261, Hi 2286, Low: 2240, SD: 16.5
Reloads Hornady 108 ELD-M: 27.5 RL-15; COAL: 2.245 - Avg: 2302, Hi 2344, Low 2959, SD: 30.6
Future plans: Load development with 95gr Sierra MK Tipped and 90gr Lapua Scenar-L.
Lot of work still to be done. Just completed my conversion Bolt: Savage 10 6.5 Creedmoor to 6mm ARC:
24" Shaw Barrel 516R Stainless Steel, 5R, 1-7 Twist, 5/8x24 threaded in a GRS Berserk stock.

Thanks for post, good info! What kind of accuracy were you getting with the pistol?
Looking forward to your report on the 24" Shaw.

Looking forward to your report on the 24" Shaw. That day of shooting was breaking the 12" in. All shoots were taken at 25 yards. All were less than 1/4" (maybe one or two were just over). Will probably wait until the Spring (warmer weather) to start load developement. I will be breaking in the 24" Shaw today. Will post results.

Brazz, I just did the break-in on mine. BA 20" barrel just like cb4017, and got the same results from HDY 108gr ELD Match. Last ten rds averaged 2587. Hoping that will improve when I've run a 100 or more rds through it. Break-in was all shot at 50 yds, but I shot some sighting strings today without the chrono that produced the same size groups at 100 that i got previously at 50, so things are working in, and I expect velocity will increase a bit.
Maybe you have your barrel by now. Good luck with it.

Only have 35 rds through my 18” Odin so far, all factory, but here are averages.
Hrndy Black 2616 w/ SD of 10.8
Hrndy ELD-M. 2621 w/ SD of 8.5
Groups aren’t bad, at 100yds they range from .28” to 1.48” The .28” group was probably an anomaly, but it shows promise.
I’m anxious to see how the 12” velocities compare.

Just having a thread with velocity numbers is pretty awesome!
I built my upper based on the 12" monster grendel barrel from BFT. Haven't shot it much but it looks very promising. I think i'll add a 20" 6ARC barrel when he releases those, and I'm looking at a 224v barrel as well.

Here is a graph I found for the 6 ARC

I've seen that chart before, but looking for the more efficient 'above the curve' lengths 14.5 18 and 20 seem to stand out

Unless that curve has lots of samples behind it, for several barrels, then those little squiggles "away" from the curve fit are probably within margins of error.
A quality barrel as opposed to a rack-grade, will give you more MV and friendlier load/bullet combo's.

The following information is on my Savage 10 24" Shaw Barrel 1-7 twist shooting the Hornady 105 HPBT Black (2.250 COAL)
Breaking in, less than 50 round: 2743 fps with an SD: 22.0
After 200 rounds: 2789 fps with an SD: 12.7
After 350 rounds: 2816 fps with an SD: 6.10
It has now has just over 400 rounds thru it and very happy with the velocity/ accuracy that I'm getting.

I'm seeing some of your 350 round velocities with the 105's out of a 22" barrel with only 120 rounds through it.
I am kind of skeptical about those results I am seeing and have plans to get back to the range again next week with some factory loads and some Bolt action hand loads with 105's.
The temps were in the high 40* range and I should not have seen velocity that high in my opinion, most rounds were in the 2780 to 2790 range, but I saw a handful of 2800 to 2820 as well. Just seem a little high for the factory round.

Results for 2 barrels, 20" Monster (SnD), and 22" Uintah (bolt action).
20" Monster:
Factory 105's: 2634 avg, sd-24.8 (the last shot unexpicably was 2601, well below the other 3, 2629-2656).
Factory 103 Eldx's: 2658 avg, sd-12.4 even over the Mgsp this one had a respectable group
0.8" for 4.
22" Uintah bolt action:
105's:2667 (3 shot). This seems really low for a 22", my 20" faxon did this well. No explanation.
108's: 2722, 0.83" (3 shot), only 3 shots but I think promising (if I can find more lol!)
103 Eldx: 2701 avg, sd 10.1 group not great but the MV has promise. This was a 4-shot.
I also had some hand loads, will post them elsewhere.
I'm going to like this 20" Monster! The Uintah also.
