If you can not see the tyranny of having a gun ban enforced by men with guns... Then you fail to understand why the second amendment was written in the first place.

I watched this as well. I was hoping that he would have the secret to the 87gr VMAX. I have a pile of them and can’t seem to get them to shoot.

How far are you jumping the bullets? The 6mm competition folks are jumping their bullets pretty far, and I'm starting to experiment with bullet jump and my groups are closing up. But the barrel is fairly new and only has a couple hundred rounds through it. So I have other things to take into account. I am going to work up some rounds this week using some lightweight bullets. I have some 85 gr. game kings that I am going to jump .100 to .120.
Some of the 6mm folks are jumping some of the lower grain stuff .135 and are shooting .250 groups. Those guys are "SPECIAL" One of them sent me pictures the first is a freak of nature, 5 shot group .078 the second one is pretty good average comp shooter around my neck of the woods. These are in 2 Gun

I also may 8208 a try.

Dino, I read (65 Grendel forum IIRC) an article (Accurate shooter) on jumping vs jammed, and its conclusion was that, especially for tangent ogive bullets, if you don't want to go up to jams (which is hard for a gas /mag length type rifle) and chase lands, then avoid the, wellllll, about 0.030-0.050 jump and go for 0.050+: not that it gives the absolute best of the best accuracy but gives a consistent accuracy you don't have to continually re-size to chase lands style load. Is this something you also find amongst you and your shooter buddies.

Another benefit is all those folks that are having problems with flattened and pierced primers, swipe marks on the brass will more than likely go away. You will also see longer brass life. Things are changing in the reloading world and you have to learn to grow with the times. My problems went away when I started jumping them .060. The design of some of the new bullets lends itself well to the longer jumps. I am going to loads some this evening to try and dial in the jump on a proven load. Then I will take that info and start pushing the powder load up and see what effect that has on the load. I will be doing lighter bullets as well, just waiting on the brown truck to deliver them. I have actually been having pretty good luck with some of those 100 gr. SPBT pulls I got, consistently hitting steel out past 600 yards with them. You have to slightly bend the feed lips on your mag to help ramp the bullet into the chamber to not damage the soft point.

Thanks, good info. I'll load some up tonight for a setting depth test. I'll be at the range on Wed and see how it works out.
