H380

Anyone using H380?

Its right next to LVR on every burn rate chart I can find.

I've got some and no lvr, so I'm looking around to see what I to I can dig up before I start thinking about ladder steps and charge weights for testing.

Bullets to be tested:
100gr hornady BTSP
103gr ELDX
107gr SMK
110gr SMK

Might order some 103gr bison Claymore's eventually too.

I think it's going to be too bulky. You intrigued me so I went onto Hodgdon's site and they don't have it listed for anything in 6mm until you get to 6 CM. So no PPC, BR, Dasher and even 6x47 Lapua. Might work for slow loads. I'd find cartridges where the list H380 along side of Lever or CFE223, look at the ratios and start real cautiously. It might work, but I doubt you'd safely get anywhere near Lever velocities.

I thought H380 was a ball/spherical powder...?
At any rate I don't find any info either in Hornady data, Hodgdon 2021 data, or in my gordon's tool...
Hodgdon 2021 data shows both BLC2 and Lvr, with similar powder weights for 100 +/- pills.
Echo what SH says however... you're kind of in uncharted territory.
