Forster seating dies

Another thing just thought if is compressed loads with ball powders.

Are your loads over 100% density with ball powders?

Have you been able to rectify these issues?

I bot a Forster seating die a few months ago and used it for the first time today.  It seems to be a big improvement over the Hornady die that I have been using and am happy with the purchase.

I think that Forster dies are great. Just not a fan of the changes that they have made in the seating stems versus the older ones that I have.

I pushed the Hornady ELD-M 108 gr bullets in to annealed cases without issue. I did sand the seating stems per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzNhy-nXxVc

I finally tried seating 90gr ELD-X with the Forster die. With no powder compression, I got a distinct compression mark on the ogive of the bullet. I pulled the die apart and did a minor chamfer to the thin seater plug, and the mark is now just a barely noticeable line. A VLD chamfering tool might resolve the issue completely.

The ogive on the 90gr ELD-X is noticably different than that of the 105gr BTHP.
