Just put my first 6arc upper together. It is a 1 in 7 twist, 20" barrel from Rexus Outfitters.
Been a long time shooter of the 6.5 Grendel and felt like it was time to try the 6arc. My intended usage is primarily a varmint gun. In my neck of the woods here in Texas, we are infested with Coyote's.
I have various 6mm projectiles to use, however, I am leaning towards the Nosler 55gr ballistic tip or even their 55gr Varmageddon or possibly the Hornady 58 gr V-max.
I do have a small supply of the 55gr BT's on hand and did shoot a one shot ladder using 8208 from 29.8 to 31 grains in .3 increments out to 100 yards to see if they would shoot. It turned out to be a .75" group over 5 different charges so it showed a lot of promise. Next time out I will try to chrono them to see how fast they moving.
Other projectiles I have on hand are 70gr TNT, 70gr Sierra HPBT (1505) several different 80gr spitzer's, and 100gr Sierra SBT on hand. Just thought the lighter grain projectile would be best for varmints.
Wondering if anyone else has tried some of these 6mm lighter projectiles and if you have, please share your details.
