Precision Firearms now has a 6mm ARC load with the Barnes LRX. I decided to give them a try after being disappointed with the Copper Creek Cartridge Company load’s low velocity and ‘meh’ precision.

I am glad I took the chance.

I got about 1moa at 100 yards out of both my 18” Odin barrel and the 13” Criterion barrel I bought from Precision Firearms. I’ll try for better groups another time. It was cold, windy, wet, the bipod on my 18” broke, and I sucked!

Velocity was nice.

18” averaged 2654fps. (The copper Creek gave 2408 out of this same barrel.) PF lists 2650fps out of a 24” barrel, so this over-delivered. I saw no pressure signs.

13” averaged 2464fps (The Copper Creek load gave. 2170 out of a 12.5 tube)

I’m moving on to the world of bolt actions but will keep my AR15 223 Wylde.

Who makes the best seating die for a reasonable price? Im thinking of reinvesting in a seating die and would like the groups input.

Not sure how well the pictures will show, but I'm seeing gouges on the rims even with Hornady Black 105's.  I'm assuming this is likely due to something on the extractor needing to be deburred?  How does a guy know what is a pressure sign and what is not?

The starline is a hand load based on Uncle Bob's results and N135 so it may actually be pushing it, but the Hornady brass is the Black factory ammo.

The blacks were mag fed.  The hand loads were single fed as they throw to the correct location, but do not have quite enough push to cycle the bolt.

Merry Christmas! I’ve been around on some gun and a lot of hunting forums for quite awhile. Have a Howa 1500 mini 20” heavy barrel on order along with brass from Starline. Looking forward to learning about this new to me caliber.

I joined a local range and am required to “qualify” before being allowed to shoot on the 100-500 yd range. I asked the owner what constituted “qualifying” and was told ….” We don't give any details about the course of fire. That will be given on the day of qualifying”.

So, given that I only have access to the 100 yd range, what should I be prepared to do on qual day?
