Hello all, Found this group looking for reloading info for bolt action 6mm ARC. My experience with the arc started when the cartridge was announced. I quickly built a AR after the announcement of the 6 ARC and had great success using it to take white tail deer ever since. love the results iv have had with it on deer. I recently decided to get a bolt gun in 6mm arc to take advantage of high pressure loads. So I look forward to scanning through this forum and talking to yawl about the ins and outs.

Anyone give the accubonds a try in the 6mm ARC?

Finally got to take my Howa to the range. I was very pleased with how it shot. The trigger is a bit heavy but not too bad. Here are the best two groups with Hornady match factory ammo. I also shot some Hornady precision hunter ammo and it grouped about .75-1".

I took my 6ARC rifles to the range today and ran PF’s Barnes 95gr LRX and 80gr TTSX 6mm ARC loads over my Garmin chronograph.

I was pleased with both. Each should give good expansion at any reasonable range.

Their website lists the 95gr LRX at 2550fps out of a 24” barrel. Ten shots out of my 18” barreled AR15 averaged 2709fps. Out of my 13” barrel the average was 2518fps.

The 80gr TTSX out of the 18” barrel yielded an average of 2879fps. The 80gr averaged 2684fps. 


Sadly, it was a department range day and my range assistant took down the targets before I could measure the groups, but they were in the MOA range.

I have been distracted lately due to a new ELR rifle in my life. It’s addictive to shoot targets at a mile! But deer season is upon us so the Arc has been put back into service. I shot it out to 340 yds today only using a 2x4 as a rest. Still puts a big smile on my face as it stacks rounds on target. Even bigger smile when I think about burning 27 gr of powder each shot instead of 88 grains!

If you are on the fence don’t hesitate! It’s a great round!

The plastic magwell on the Howa mini seems to be its weakest point, and has a history of breaking.  There are a number of options including MDT's bottom metal that uses Howa's magazine.

The latter is/was in stock, so I ordered one. It will make the rifle more slender at the balance/carry point, and still allows quick unloading.

I have a request if anyone that is using Quickloads for the 6mm Arc. If they can post a screen shot of Hodgdon LEVERevolution powder. I would like to compare the numbers 
to Gordon Reloading Tools program. I attached a picture of what Gordon Reloading Tools powder property looks like. Thanks.
