Larry's had these for a while with a 2 box limit. Didn't make much sense to me since you've got a box or so left over after you find a load and don't know when you'll see them again. He lifted the limit so I bought a bunch to feed my 6x45 200-300 yard practice rounds, but they'd obviously feed an ARC hungry for zippy varmint / practice rounds too.

Has anyone tried CFE223 and 55gr bullets? It seems both hornady and hodgdon cut off before that. Fortunately, or unfortunately for me I have quite a bit of CFE223 so I'd like to use it if its reasonable.

total of 7 in an hour ranging from 80-190 yards but this was the very first kill for the rifle 




and now back off in about 45 mins to go setup for some yotes

 
I finally got the opportunity to take my new Upper build to the range today.
The build consists of:

• Aero Precision M4E1 Threaded Assembled Upper Receiver with the face lapped for squareness.
  
• Toolcraft Bolt Carrier with a properly headspaced San Tan Tactical 6mm ARC Bolt
  
• BCM #4 Charge Handle
  
• ALG 10” EMR V1 Handguard
  
• 12” 6mm ARC Monster Barrel, Odin Works Tunable Gas Block, Aero Nitride Gas Tube and a Silencerco ASR Muzzle Brake calibrated with a sold spacer.
  
• Vortex 1-6x Strike Eagle mounted in a Warne 30mm XSKEL mount.  I’ve used this scope/mount combo many times for initial testing.  The scope was bore-sighted before going to the range.
  
• All parts were brand new except the ALG Handguard.
  

• I decided on a 50-yard suppressed zero with this barrel.  A Silencerco Saker 7.62 suppressor was installed on the Silencerco 7.62 ASR Brake.
  
• I was still shooting approximately 4” high when I ran out of adjustment on the scope.  This has never happened before with this scope or any of my other builds.
  
• I was using factory Hornady 108 gr ELD ammunition that was just chrono'd at 2323 FPS.
  

Hello everyone!   I'm BrentL and am an avid shooter. and I'm relatively new to 6mm ARC and glad to see others interested in this cartridge.  Love long range shooting, but the nearest range that I use is limited to 1,000 yards.

Starting to see Ammo showing up at local stores. Mid South and others. Some of the pricing is looking somewhat reasonable as well. Perhaps firearms makers will start offering a wider range of suitable rifles before long.

Glad to see the way  Hornady has stepped up to the plate getting 6mm ARC ammo on the shelves. Good job!

There is a 6mm arc channel at Discord (among many others).  It has some cross over from the Forum here as there was questions about Monster Arc barrels.
I am mentioning it as an additional source of data about the 6mm ARC.

well 6.5 staball works in the arc with 90g bullets
used it to fireform some 7.62x39 brass today and accuracy with the un fireformed brass and staball was suprising stopped at 30 rds to snap this pic

now that the cases are fireformed i need to shoot a ladder with them and get some chrono data , 6.5 staball and the 90g fmj might make a nice very soft shooting close to midrange sd load

50 bolt gun max loads shot today


the plan is shoot 50 , magnaflux the bolt shoot 50 magnaflux the bolt etc etc
the magna fluxing will show me if the bolt is starting to fail at any point if it doesnt fail while shooting lol the plan is run it till it fails or call it a ok at 1000rds
