  SOLD OUT 6mmARC MONSTER 20
Posted by: BluntForceTrauma - 02-05-2021, 01:40 AM - Forum: Rexus Outfitters - Replies (60)

Shooters love my 6.5 Grendel MONSTER barrels.

Now SixFiveArms.com IS offering 6mm ARC barrels.

First out of the gate are 6mmARC 20" MONSTER barrels in 416R bead-blasted stainless steel.

They feature a 1:7 twist with 5R rifling. This allows these barrels to handle even the heaviest 6mm bullets out to the longest range you care to shoot.

Muzzle is threaded for 5/8-24 devices. Gas block journal is 0.750 and Rifle Length Gas System (RLGS) gas port is located such that gas blocks can be butted right up to the gas block shoulder. On the breech end, barrel extension is nitrided for all-weather durability and lubricity of the extension-bolt interface.

Barrel external profile could be called a medium weight — perfect for field use. Profile starts out heavy — like a bull barrel — near the chamber where extra metal is most important, and tapers to a light profile near the muzzle where weight is unnecessary. This moves the center of balance of your rifle closer to the mid-point, and makes the weapon feel lighter and handle better.

Finally, our MONSTER skull logo is laser-etched near the muzzle for an extra touch of cool. ;-)

Price for our 6mmARC MONSTER 20, due in March, is $159 plus shipping.

Order from our SixFiveArms website HERE.

  Gas system question... revised
Posted by: Ihmsa7br - 01-23-2021, 08:33 PM - Forum: 6mmARC AR15s and Semi-Autos - Replies (7)

Ok maybe I asked the wrong question... Has anyone run into issues with a fixed gas block?

I am building my ARC currently and ran into an issue with my handguard not fitting over the adjustable gas block.  Call it a rookie mistake in the current environment, not waiting to verify dimensions with customer service, when inventory changes overnight.

  Encouraging Results

I got my 18” Odin built and threw a few rounds down range for function checking.

I started with the Hornady Black ammo to get close. I got a five shot group of 1.03.

Moving to the ELD-M I got five in 1.13. This group was completely vertical, with the horizontal spread being about .15”

I wasn’t really shooting for a tight group but am pleased with this as a start.

When it gets warmer I’ll shoot more!

ETA: Function was 100% with ejection at about 4 o’clock with my Omega on the end of the barrel.

UPDATE: Forster 6mmARC Dies Now Available
Posted by: BluntForceTrauma - 01-19-2021, 08:23 PM - Forum: 6mmARC Deals, Information, New Products - Replies (6)

Sent an email to Forster asking about 6mmARC dies.

ME: "Could not find 6mmARC on your website using your search function. But websites aren't always up-to-date. You guys have 6mmARC dies?"

FORSTER: "Thanks for reaching out to us. This is not a die we offer at this time. Currently, we are so busy with our current line of products that this is not one we have the machine time for — but hope to add in the near future."

I'm a "Forster guy," so really want to hold out for them, but don't know how long I can wait.

What dies you guys using?

  Rem 700 in 300BO to 6ARC?
Posted by: RSTX - 01-18-2021, 09:34 PM - Forum: 6mmARC Bolt Actions - Replies (9)

I traded into a used Rem 700 AAC in 300 BO. I think it would make a good candidate for a bolt action 6mm ARC. Am I delirious or does this sound like a reasonable project? I'm not a gunsmith in any way, but I have put together a couple of AR15 uppers. Is this something I could do? Change barrels and the bolt? Is it more involved that this?

Hornady #6 Case Holder Stripping Case Head
Posted by: twocuts - 01-17-2021, 10:37 PM - Forum: 6mmARC Ammunition and Reloading - Replies (6)

I originally used a Lee #1 Case Holder in my RockChucker to decap fired 6 ARC Hornady cases. About 50% of my cases would not fit in it. After Hornady suggested using their #6 holder I moved over to that one and continued de-capping with no problem.
However, when I started sizing my brass using the Hornady 6 ARC FL sizing die I started having cases pull out of the case holder and get stuck in the die. To get them out I raised the holder back up and then pull the holder to me with a screwdriver by applying sideways force on the case and relocking it around the brass case. Once I got the case out I looked it over and noticed that a segment of brass had been sheared off of the case head. It sort of looked like a clipped finger nail. This happened 4 more times. Finally I went back to the Lee #1 holder and I have had no more issues.

BTW, I lubricate my brass with Imperial wax and dry lube for inside the neck.

So, I can I use the Lee#1 case holder to Decap, Resize and Seat the 6 ARC.
