  New From CA

I've had my eye on the 6ARC for a while now and decided to finally take the plunge.  The final straw was getting an email from Craddock Precision that had a coupon code to "save some money" on whatever they had in stock.  I punched in the code on the 16" Bartlein 6ARC barrel that I had an eye on and figured might as well jump in to the deep end with a tier 1 barrel.

I haven't been this excited for a new barrel ever, and I can't wait to take everything I've learned over the years with my 5.56 and 6.5 Grendel builds to make this new rig into my ultimate "do everything" rifle.

  Another old guy

Hi everybody. Been reloading for 25+ years. I was all set to build a 6mm AR wildcat when Hornady dropped the 6 ARC, and I've been all about it since. I've done probably more load development with this caliber than all my other rifles combined. I run a 20" gas gun mainly for prairie dogs and coyotes here in Arizona. Currently I'm loading 87gr VMAX with 26.9gr of Accurate 2495 behind it with great results. The powder I really had success with the same bullet is the Vihtavuori N135. Both run about 2930fps and sub-MOA. Looking forward to geeking out and swapping stories.

  Starline 6 ARC Brass
Posted by: VASCAR2 - 06-27-2023, 11:28 PM - Forum: 6mmARC Ammunition and Reloading - Replies (5)

Looks like Starline released a batch of 6 mm ARC brass.   It is currently sold  out but looks like from their home page they sold one batch.   Time to keep watch for the ability to back order brass from Starline.

Starline's top-quality factory-new 6mm ARC brass is finally available — but on backorder — on Starline's website.

This means dealers will also have it soon.

New here. Aero and Shaw setup. Lights Out!
Posted by: bryant00 - 06-25-2023, 10:07 PM - Forum: 6mmARC AR15s and Semi-Autos - Replies (2)

Hello! I just wanted to join this forum for support and to share another Frankenstein build that worked well for me.

Build:
Aero Enhanced Upper and 15" Enhanced rail
Aero M4E1 lower
Aero Adjustable gas block
Aero melonite gas tube
Shaw 18" straight fluted barrel
Dead Air single port brake
Dead Air Sandman-S
LaRue MBT-2S
Stoner Lower parts kit
Stoner buffer tube
JP silicon  buffer spring
H buffer

Just took the gun out the first time to the range yesterday. I had 60 rounds of Black for tune and testing. Here are some of the better results.

NOTE:
Because of possible gas issues/magazines/feeding issues I was mostly doing 3 rounds groups. All shots are at 100 yards. I'm learning how to upload some better pictures for this forum.

  Annealing brass
Posted by: CZ527 Guy - 06-19-2023, 11:21 PM - Forum: 6mmARC Ammunition and Reloading - Replies (2)

I have done a fair bit of tight AZZ annealing over the years & was really wishing to to go top of the line induction annealer. A automated flame annealer was in the end my choice. I have grown to learn a a fair amount about brass annealing along the way. Recently came across the video below.

This chap does a super job of conveying the majority goals of the process in a well put together fashion like I have not seen B4. Thought this may be worth sharing.

  Iosso bore cleaner?
Posted by: Atlas0065 - 06-17-2023, 12:01 AM - Forum: 6mmARC Target & Competition - Replies (2)

Gents,
If I missed a previous thread on this I apologize.  Looking for some advice on Iosso bore cleaner...Depending on who you talk too, it's been mentioned that this cleaner is the only "paste-type" cleaner that can be used at every cleaning.  When I say "every cleaning" I'm mentioning within reason, say after every 50-100 rounds fired.

Does anyone use it sooner than that and more often?  If so, how are your results? My concern is that I grew up being told that all paste type cleaners were "abrasive" type cleaners and were not to be used as often and certainly not at every cleaning.  However, I have heard recently from many (including the company) that it is ok to use Iosso at every cleaning because it's not an abrasive cleaner like JB bore paste or others.

Thoughts?
