87 Berger's VLD... maybe |

I ordered a couple boxes of this 87 Berger hunting VLD bullet. Going to try them in my 20" AR barrel... I've never found "the ONE" for this barrel, although the 90 sierra tgk was (is) close. But trouble is, Sierra isn't making many more of them, they've been OOS along with the 100 tgk for nigh onto a year. I don't like placing my bets on a pill that you can't be sure will be around when you need to reorder.
So. These bergers have a lot of good reviews, mostly in .243's but some 6 Remmies, and I found them on ammoseek not too $$$.
As an approximation I loaded some 88 berger's, the flat base, since they are vld and I can load them out to 2.260, under 87 Vmax data for Lvr, 30.3-31.2. Pretty close except the 88's can load longer.
Boy was the range hot today, 98-102!! But I got some chrony data for them, about the MV range I was expecting, 2800-2888. So when these 87's arrive I'm going to do some loads for them. BC is .427 and the speed is up fast enough that I can feel ok using them as a deer round out east here.

Hey everyone I have decided to stop messing around with pistols so much and get an upper and lower. I have been researching calibers and ammo prices. I came across the 6MM ARC, and it made the most sense to own that round. This is really gonna be a plinking rifle, and my only rifle lol.
I bought a CMMG Resolute 20” upper in 6MM ARC, Steiner M8Xi 1-8 DMR reticle LVPO in Coyote Brown, I purchased some Hornady Match 6MM ARC 108Gr ELD Ammo for about $1.12 per shot. I still need a lower receiver, and some magazines.
Any recommendations are appreciated. I’m pretty new to long guns honestly. I owned a Tavor about 10 years ago.

I just got 300 - new 6mm ARC cases made by Star-Line Brass.
I ordered them from a place called "Druid Hill Armory". The price was $0.65 a case in that quantity. It would have been $0.75 a case for a bag of 100 cases.
I'm going to get started on them today, trimming to length & chamfering the inside and outside of the case mouth. I'll be reloading with Hornady 6mm 105 grain BTHP bullets and 26.8 grains of RL-15. I use CCI primers.
I found that after 5 reloads, my Hornady cases would no longer maintain adequate neck tension. I neck size only but do not anneal.
I hope the Star-Line brass will give me more reloads. Time will tell.

Wow I feel like I have been living under a rock. Very good film well worth watching for anyone who has had a father, in my opinion. If you don't feel like you had a father this may be good for you and yours as well.
